Michael Joseph Savage was born in Tatong, in the state of Victoria, Australia, on the 23 March 1872, the youngest of eight children of Irish immigrants Richard Savage and his wife, Johanna Hayes. Savage finished school and worked a number of odd jobs around Victoria. In this article of Japanese ethnographic summary, not all, but general present condition of Japan is described in seven separate categories: location, geographic resources, exchange system, subsistence practices, political structures, religion, and kinship structure and other social organizations.
